Taking off on a road trip with my pup is one of my favorite things. Here are a few things to consider while you are on the road.
1.Your pup can pick up on your stress so be sure to stay as calm as possible.
2. If you have not taken your pup in the car, go for a ride to be sure there is no motion sickness.
3. Have a list of vets in the area of your destination. We hoomans have emergency rooms to go to, however, our four legged friends do not.
4. Bring dog treats, water and food bowls. A favorite toy and a favorite blanket or pillow will help your pup feel more comfortable
5. Make frequent stops. Remember your pup will need to void his bladder and stretch his legs. (Even if he is a small dog) Many rest areas have doggie areas.
6. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PUP ALONE IN THE CAR. Hot or cold it does not matter. "I'll only be a minute" becomes 20 in no time.
